Copyright © 2010 Tom Henricks. Visit the original article at http://www.tomswebsite.net/tomsblog/add-flv-flash-video-to-website/.

I see a lot of people asking how to play flash video on their website. I also see a whole lot of very confusing answers.
I must say that after working it out one time, it is not as difficult as some say.
The first step is to download Flowplayer at http://flowplayer.org/download/index.html

Their website will explain what to do with the files, but in a nutshell – you extract the files from the zipped download and upload the folder of files to your webserver. You will probably rename the folder “example” to something of your own choice. It doesn’t matter as long as you insert the correct path into the code for your website.

You are then given three seperate pieces of code that you modify slightly with the correct path to your files at your server.
One of these goes into the “head” area of the HTML for your webpage. The other two go into the body. The location in the page HTML of the code will determine where the video shows on the page.

That’s it. Don’t believe all that garbage about it not being possible. The big thing to consider is this – video files are big and consume server storage and also a big bunch of traffic to view the video will demand much more bandwidth (the amount of work your server does for you).

Yes – you can add FLV Flash video to your website.

View the Video Here
http://www.your-home-energy.com/

These are my modified lines of code for my particular website

Place In Head Section for scripts
<script src=”http://www.your-home-energy.com/flowplayer/myvideo/flowplayer-3.1.1.min.js”></script

Load Your FLV Video file into Flowplayer main folder – Place this code in your webpage
<a href=”http://www.your-home-energy.com/flowplayer/myvideo/greenenergy.flv“ style=”display:block;width:425px;height:300px;” id=”player”> </a>

Place this on the page where you want video to show
<script language=”JavaScript”> flowplayer(“player”, “http://www.your-home-energy.com/flowplayer/flowplayer-3.1.1.swf“); </script

Copyright © 2010 Tom Henricks. Visit the original article at http://www.tomswebsite.net/tomsblog/home-made-wind-power/.

During the times when the price of oil was relatively low compared to current prices, it did not occur to us that we should be looking for alternate energy sources. The round of recent high prices have caused many of us become alarmed and start thinking about alternatives. It might be worth your effort to examine those alternatives. You may be quite surprised to discover that you can build your own solar power generator using commonly available materials and the cost may surprise you in a nice way. To back up this resource that is only beneficial during sunny periods, add a homemade wind generator to take advantage of the wind even while the sun is not offering much towards your goal. The final piece to the puzzle would be an efficient method to store away a reserve of this electricity you have produced using a home wind turbine or solar power generator.

The surprising fact is that all the parts that you require for home meade wind power are readily available to you today at pretty low cost. You can build a wind electric generator from parts that in large part can be purchased from your local metal salvage yards. The same can be said about your solar power generator. You can purchase the more technical and sophisticated parts piecemeal from product specific suppliers. If you don’t live near a large city, turn to the internet. You can safely purchase literally anything you need on the internet in this day and age. The cells for your solar power can be purchased in bulk quite economically and combine those with locally purchased hardware and you will create a solar power generator that will pay you back for years to come.

A wind power trubine can be put together from locally purchased surplus and scrap metal at scrap metal prices. Again, a homemade wind generator will require a few project specific items of a more technical nature. You purchase these items separately and construct the end product at a fraction of the cost of commercially marketed products.

When it is time to store and distribute that electricity you have generated you will need a bit of technical assistance. That information is readily available. A number of proven products are available on the internet that will walk you through the whole thing.

You might be amazed to discover that many very useable batteries are sitting in piles at battery recycle depots. Many of these can be easily rejuvenated with a chemical treatment to reduce buildup of sulphates on the battery plates or by using a special battery charger that uses pulses to shake the sulphate buildup off the battery plates. People scrap quality deep cycle batteries every day that simply need a bit of sulphate removal from lead plates inside to rejuvenate them.

So in the end your goal would be to build a solar power generator for sunny days, a home wind turbine for breezy days and then understand how to store that electricity economically. Tie this electrical energy into your residential electrical system and you will easily payback your investment in as little as a few months.

If you wish to construct your own source of green energy, feel free to take a look at Home Made Wind Power Turbine.
